Why 9 has no letter

Who Was Cheiro? The Man Behind the Chart

Cheiro was born William John Warner in 1866 near Dublin, Ireland, and died in 1936 in Hollywood. He built his fame as a society palmist in London and read for celebrated clients, among them Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde and Thomas Edison, according to his biography on Wikipedia. He claimed to have learned palmistry, astrology and numerology from a teacher in India, which is one reason his books found such a large readership here.

The letter table he published is usually described as Chaldean, after Chaldea, the ancient region of southern Mesopotamia associated with early astronomy and astrology. Historians note that there is little direct evidence tying this exact table to ancient Babylonian texts; it is better understood as a 19th and early 20th century system that Cheiro presented under the Chaldean name. That background matters when you read claims that the chart is "thousands of years old".

Common Mistakes When Using the Cheiro Numerology Chart

• Mixing charts. Using Pythagorean values for some letters and Cheiro values for others. Keep to one table from start to finish.
• Giving a letter the value 9. If your chart has 9 next to I or R, it is the Pythagorean table, not the Cheiro chart.
• Skipping the compound number. Reducing 33 straight to 6 without noting 33 loses the detail Cheiro considered important.

Your date of birth produces separate numbers: the birth (psychic) number from the day of the month and the destiny or life path number from the full date.
